I had a rugged look. Worn out t-shirt and shabby slack. But the colours i play with.. huh!

A semester 6 fibre project. 15 years later I produced a documentary title The Queen of Fabric: Songket. Brought tears to my eyes.

Aku sedia maklum aku tak trendy. Aku tidak buat benda trendy. (Kecuali fb) Maka, secara logicnya, aku tak boleh me'reka' benda yang trendy dan menjadi ikutan ramai. Namun sedikit sebanyak aku duduk (atau terduduk) dalam bidang yang perlu menarik perhatian umum - secara pukal. Perlu disukai ramai.

Kadang-kadang terlalu teliti, terover organise, terlampau fikir, terlebih faham pun tak guna jugak. Tak terganjak dibuatnya. Kadang-kadang tersangat pandai dan termakin efficient boleh jadi benci.

Open Silk Screen: Rain Forest

Baju-T lukisan tangan. Hand painted t-shirt design. Teknik open silkscreen. Di commission kan job oleh Rusli Hashim Fine Art Gallery, KL (lepas tu tukar jadi Rain Forest Gallery) setelah puas hati dengan sample aku tunjuk.

Aku buat 20 helai baju ni. Kat luar rumah atas meja ping pong, antara kerja restoren siang malam. 10 helai macam ni, 10 helai lukis tangan. Siap ada extra order lagi lepas tu.

Sayangnya aku tak simpan satu pun untuk aku. Aku tak ambik banyak gambar.

Rain Forest

Hand painted t-short design. Open silk screen. Those were the days when my 'painting' was appreciated. Assigned by Rusli Hashim Fine Art Gallery, KL, I did around 20 pieces of these. Titled Rain Forest. Each different. Another 10 pieces of hand drawn pictures, birds and flowers.

Early 2000, digital camera was rare. (digital camera which you need to insert a floppy disk- remember?) My brother had one but he wasn't around. I'd have had more of the art tshirt taken.

Make My Day

Sometimes a simple honest word of praise can really brighten you up. It comes from a total stranger via the facebook page i am maintaining. A 3 - 4 words sentence. Nothing too flashy. But I am beaming. (So much so that i decided to write.)

And then i am thinking, what if Haiya BidDoa goes unpredictably popular..?

Again, one of my old work. There were 2 of this series. This was shown at Shah Alam Open Exhibition. Another one was sent to Pertandingan Karya seni Kreatif Kebangsaan PNB (PNB Art Competition) around 1997/1998. Didn't get to win or exhibited.

This work is now 'menanti pecah hancur dalam stor.'

Paralympic

Malaysian Paralympic Council had a function and we designed what's needed. From the booklet to the flyers etc. Together with Jalot. Most was his design actually.
