Penang Street Art. Kat Armenian Street. Aktiviti cuti sekolah bagi mereka yang seronok dengan bende art tak art ni dan yang seronok peluh tak peluh. Beberapa tips dan cerita nak dikongsi. Artikel ini ditulis pada 3hb Ogos 2015.

1. Terletak beberapa km dari padang kota, area ni area rumah kedai lama yang 20% nya telah berubah bisnes kearah bisnes pelancongan. Hotel, batik shop, cenderahati dll.

2. Pergi awal. Parking susah. Parking rate kat lapangan parking persendirian adalah RM5 sekali masuk. Parking tepi jalan kena pakai kupon kot.

3. Ada map percuma. Pandang-pandang kedai dan gerai dan tapak jualan cenderahati. Diorang boleh bagi map percuma. Tapi aku dapat map lama hari tu. Bila aku mintak mamat ni tengokkan baru dia perasan map tu map lama.

4. Sewa beca. Rate dalam RM35 satu jam. Sebab tempat artnya agak bersepah dan bukan setempat, apek beca lagi fasih. Kuranglah masa terbuang kerana terkial-kial baca map. Basikal dalam RM8 dan yang berbakul depan dalam RM10. Ah-so yang aku sewa tu kasik pakai sampai jam 2 atau 3 katanya. 3 - 4 jam jugak la. Aku berbasikal sementara anak dan isteri berbeca.

5. Beca atau basikal custom made ni agak mahal. RM80 for two hours. Ada yang kecik sikit RM60 for two hours. Mahal ! Tapi memandangkan bende ni unik dan ramai keluarga ambik, kena lah book awal. Call atau datang awal. By the time kami nak cari, dah jam 11 pagi, dah habis.

6. Bawak air meneral. Camera make sure charged full.

7. Ada masjid berdekatan untuk solat.

8. Selamat berchuti !

Malacca is spelled with one 'L' and 2 'C's. A popular tourist place amongst Singaporean, Indonesians and Malaysians too. And a city you can go again and again and again and again....

Basic Where ?

Southern part of Semenanjung Malaysia, some 3 hours drive away from Kuala Lumpur. Always book a place to stay early, especially during school break. Hotels and motels can be fully booked. Home stay is a better choice. The city can be very congested on Saturdays and Sundays. I prefer to stay right in the middle of the city so attractions are walking distance.

Basic What Is Malacca ?

Malacca is a tourist destination. They have ample of theme parks, as in Taman Buaya (crocodile farm) etc. They have museums. They have beaches. They have historical sites. They have food.

This is the place Malaysia started, way back in 1400. There was a huge ancient civilisation here called errr.. Melaka. So well known, popular and strong as a port and trading city that the sea beside her is call Selat Melaka. A country attacked and conquered by the Portuguese, Belanda (Dutch) and British for a few hundred years. And today we Malaysians are proud of the old buildings and the remains of the people who killed, slaughtered, murdered, rape and steal from our ancestors. Termasuklah aku yang tengok je bangunan orang puteh tu tanpa rasa dendam. Tui.. !

Do not miss to visit Jonker Street

You can rent a bike for as low as RM3 per hour.
Cycling around on congested street is safe.
Cars are going at 20km/h.

Take a peak into the shops architecture and interiors.

Planning To Go ?

Then do not waste time reading blogs and all, just go. Err. wait. Book a place. We were at Hatten Hotel. A 5 star hotel. In one of the premium rooms. And yet no towels were given. I called room service at night and they didn't come. It was until tomorrow that the cleaning girl told me that they were out of towels as the laundry can't cope up. That's how fully booked the city can be. So make sure you have a place before going.

I didn't stay here.

no cultural value related to Malacca. But
the kids love it.

Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia

1. Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia atau Muzium Seni Islam Malaysia memang best dan informative. Pergi lah bawak anak-anak. Although most of the collection are still the same since it was first open some 16-17 years ago. But no complains. Its good.

Basically Where Is This ?

Located in the heart of KL, next to the national mosque. Take the whole day to visit the places here. There's the old railway station nearby - beautiful Moorish architecture, the national mosque and the bird park.

Entrance Fee as of 2014

Adults goes in for RM 14 and children is RM 7. Maybe those below 9 years old are too young to appreciate stuff on display, but I brought my boys and they had fun looking. And running.

Basic What Is This ?

But please be reminded that this is a museum that talks about the Islamic art history. Not on Islam as a religion or a way of life, the empire etc. They exhibit clothes, ceramics, Quran, Khats, jewelry and furniture.

Then there is a section of miniature mosques. Great old mosques around the world being displayed. Including Masjidil Haram and Masjid Nabawi.

The Museum itself is has nice interior.

 I didn't take pictures of the exibits. Have to respect the rules. So no more info from me.

Port Dickson

PD Ostrich Show Farm - Thumbs Up !

What to do? Where to go with the holidays coming? The children are restless and I am no fun nor exiting dad. Cuti sekolah, mana nak pergi? Mana nak pergi? Cuti sekolah.

So this time around we decided to go to PD - Port Dickson. Sapa Dickson ni aku tak berapa nak tau. Again, if you are a family with love for animals (and the smell of animals), PD has an Ostrich Farm to offer besides the beach. Clean, orang dia baik-baik, spacious and children friendly. The toilets were under construction so I didn't get to go. There's a small souvernir shop that nobody goes in. And there's a huge dining area where you can rest and tour groups gather. Very comfy.


Basic Where?
Teluk Kemang. Teluk Kemang is in PD, Negeri Sembilan, which is around 2 hours drive from KL. Drive along the beach of Teluk Kemang, on your right is a sign. This paragraph is not very helpful - because it's kind of easy to find it.

Basic What Is It?

It is an animal farm. There are rabbits, burung puyuh, chickens, snakes, reptiles, donkeys and a few more suitable animals plus ostriches. There are more rabbits than ostrich. Plus dinosaurs. We didn't see any though. A guided tour will take an hour plus to finish. Come early and you can spend more time with the rabbits.

OK. Reasonable price.

Pay and get this. They also sell packs of food to feed the animals too.

Baru perasan dia tulis untuk di jual. Best jugak ada ostrich kat rumah.

Kandang puyuh & rabbits. Quails can be very smelly.
But not here. Well kept and well cleaned.

The meat is not eaten, work also cannot - got tractor.

A family day group

It was a nice trip. It was hot and sunny. With the tour guy around, plenty of information. We by chance arrived with another group of family and were taken on a tour. I am not sure if the tour guide guy does this on regular basis.

A good trip. You can bring along your baby's stroller. And carry plenty of water.
